A skateboarding school in Kabul, an open-air cinema in Jenin, murals in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro and a garden in Paris-Testify! The Consequences of Architecture presents a selection of projects that seek to improve social, economic and environmental conditions through architectural and artistic means. Using flexible, integrative planning processes, architects, urban planners and other creatives are levying the transformative power of architecture to meet the complex challenges of our time. Through the personal impressions of diverse stakeholders-construction workers, students, journalists, photographers, academics and politicians-Testify! highlights the projects and their impact from the perspective of the users.

What are the consequences of architecture? Ole Bouman (Director Netherlands Architecture Institute (NAi)), Patrizia di Monte (Gravalos di Monte Arquitectos), Matthias Rick (raumlaborberlin), Dre Urhahn (Haas&Hahn), Lukas Feireiss (Curator Testify!) und Matthias Bottger (Curator DAZ) will discuss spatial as well as social consequences of some of the featured projects at a symposium at the Dutch Embassy in Berlin. Diverse design strategies and implementation processes of architecture will be critically reviewed.
