Eero Saarinen: Shaping the Future

The exhibition is directed by curator Donald Albrecht in conjunction with the research team. The exhibition installation conveys the technological and structural ingenuity of Saarinens buildings. The show features full scale building mock ups, never before seen drawings, models, photographs, films, and ephemera.

The exhibition is organized into two sections: Building for Postwar America, which focuses on building types, illustrating the wide range of Saarinens projects in the context of their cultural and political significance and The Architect and his Milieu, which will examine Saarinen and his many collaborators.

The exhibition, its accompanying book, the exhibition brochure, the website, and the documentary flm serve to return Saarinen, more than four decades since his untimely death in 1961, to the center of architectural discourse.

The exhibition will be on show partly in Yale Art Gallery and partly in Yale School of Architecture.
