Even before the Prime Minister branded the area 'Tech City', digital businesses in Old Street and Shoreditch had been growing organically largely without the influence of grand plans or policies. The resulting higher profile has provided impetus to policies that see new technology at the heart of the regeneration of east London. What impact are these policies having on existing businesses in the area? What is it doing to rental values? How far east can Tech City spread? Are techies the new occupiers in the City?This NLA On Location event will bring together key developers, architects, occupiers, investors, and policy makers to examine current activity around Old Street and Shoreditch, drivers of change and the impact these are having on the mix of occupiers and their needs, as well as ambitions and future opportunities for the area. This will be followed by a networking lunch and afternoon walking tours, visiting new architecture and developments of interest. |
