Archoffice is a design-led, service-orientated architectural practice in Auckland committed to delivering high quality, unique projects. We pay particular attention to issues of site, locality, history, culture, scale, intensity, sustainability, climate and materiality in the New Zealand context to express an appropriate but innovative Architecture. We strive to produce award-winning schemes that meet or exceed our clients and users expectations both aesthetically and functionally.
We are always looking at opportunities that each new site/project provides for light, topography, outlook, shelter, sun and entry. We endeavor to develop a concept that we can combine with the site conditions, space planning and materials to express architecture. We are always looking at new ways of doing things and what is happening elsewhere on the world Architecture Stage. The projects we have included here all express this thinking in differing ways.
The work the office is involved in at the moment is quite varied and consists of Local Authority and residential projects with some recreational & sports projects. My work, as at December 2013 has mainly involved the existing Aotea Centre foyer refurbishment work to compliment the ASB Theatre Refurbishment (2012), plus a mix of residential and other local authority work.
Birkenhead Library which I completed in 2009 has won numerous awards at both National and Local levels as well as some others such as Timber Design, DINZ, Property Council and WANZ. The local community love their Library and our office is proud of the result.
