Using prefabricated methods of construction the project architects implemented many sustainable bioclimatic interventions such as a ventilated facade, a solar heating system, solar shading systems, and woodwork with thermal bridge breaks.
Consisting of three levels and a basement the building has been organised around a central courtyard providing natural daylight deep within the library and elderly centre.
Rooms intended for the elderly are located on the street level facilitating their access.
The new library is positioned on the north side of the building ensuring appropriate illumination to its rooms.
