Montrose Cultural Centre

Montrose Cultural Centre, Grande Prairie - Alberta, Teeple Architects

Construction year:
Architect(s): Montrose Cultural Centre
City/Town: Montrose Cultural Centre

Set in downtown Grande Prairie, Alberta, the Montrose Cultural Centre is conceived as a new cultural hub and rejuvenated civic focal point. The Centre houses a library, community meeting rooms, a café, art gallery, state-of-the-art information technology stations and a variety of flexible spaces to house curated exhibitions and other cultural events. Capturing the prairie grasslands and the dramatic beauty of the northern light is the central focus of the overall design. The building is in complete harmony with the low lying horizon that precedes it. The library is linked to the newly expanded Prairie Art Gallery, also designed by Teeple Architects.
