|
|
During its CHINA 2010 trip, on September 1, ArchiTeam with the contribution of CTBUH (Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitiat) organized a technical tour for the travel group in Shanghai. The technical tour included a visit to the Shanghai World Financial Center. There, a technical video was shown, a guide to the construction of the SWFC and a tour to a large scale model of the city of Shanghai were made by the Mori Tower experts. And finally a visit to the tallest observation of the world at 490meters with a magnificent panoramic view to the city of Shanghai completed this unique experience. After the visit to SWFC the group walked around the Pudong area, exploring this new open economic development zone that started evolving in 1990. This part, where also the well known Jin Mao Tower is built, is called the he Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone and several landmark buildings were constructed during the last years to raise the image and awareness of the area. At noon the ArchiTravel group visited the architectural office of Ecadi Architects, who presented their work to the travel group and showed their branches of the design teams. They both had the opportunity to discuss several issues regarding architectural practice in Europe and China. The meeting was very successful and useful for both parties, who agreed to keep up in the future for further co-operation in the fields of promoting Architecture and architecture traveling.
