Diploma in Arbitration, UCD Faculty of Law, 2006.
Diploma in Construction Law and Contract Administration, T.C.D.  2008.  

2. PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Fellow of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI).
Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).
Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR)-Accredited mediator.

3. PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE CAREER
Worked during undergraduate curriculum in Dublin, London,  Jerusalem, Madrid.
Brian O’Halloran & Associates Architects Dublin, 1974 to 1981.
Founding partner in 1981 of Mitchell Ó Muiré Architects, later Ó Muiré Smyth
(OMS) Architects; retired as partner in 2005.
Now a sole practitioner; engaged in collaborative work on planning and design of
projects, and in dispute resolution and troubleshooting.

4. INVOLVEMENT IN (& ON BEHALF OF) PROFESSIONAL BODIES etc.
Member of the RIAI Council most years since 1981, and President 2002-03
Founder member, Irish National Committee of ICOMOS, International Council on
Monuments and Sites.
Co-chair Joint Housing Committee of RIAI/Irish Government Dept of Environment,
Heritage and Local Government (DEHLG) 2004-09.  Still a Committee Member.
Member of DEHLG Review Group on planning guidelines, leading to publication of
updated DEHLG Development Management Guidelines – June 2007.
Chair of the European Network of Architects Competent Authorities since 2007.
An RIAI nominee to the Liaison Committee for the Construction Industry 2005-2010.
Member, Architects Council of Europe Work Group-Dispute Resolution since 2008.
Member, Irish Commercial Mediation Association (ICMA) 2009.
