BGP Arquitectura, Bernardo Gómez-Pimienta founded and has been managed bgp arquitectura as multidisciplinary study dedicated to creation and research architecture and design, developing projects of different types and scales: from products, furniture, houses, buildings to cultural, industrial and commercial parks and urban development with projects in the United States, Spain, Europe, Asia, Latin America and Mexico. His most recognized projects include the Ave Fenix fire station, the City of the Books in La Ciudadela in Mexico City. This office currently focuses on the regeneration of Presidente Masaryk Avenue. He has constructed relevant international works like the Mexican pavilions in the book fairs in Paris, France; Bogota, Colombia and Kolkata, India, between 2009 and 2010. Bgp architectura’s philosophy advocates a critical, sustainable and humane architecture designed for habitation and reflection of its time.
Bernardo Gómez-Pimienta has been working as an architect since 1987; he is; director of the Architecture School at the Anahuac University, emeritus member of the National Architecture Academy and member of the National System of Art Creators of CONACULTA. In 2007 he was decorated Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur by the French Republic. In 2009 he was designated honorary fellow by the American Institute of Architects and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada.
Bernardo Gomez-Pimienta’s work is widely recognized in Mexico and abroad, he has being awarded with the Mies Van der Rohe Latin America prize, in 1998. He has also received more than eighty national and international awards as recognition to his architecture, ranging from contemporary style to environmental and cultural aspects of Mexican tradition.
