The Aalto Theater is an opera house by the design of the Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, who won unanimously the competition for the building in 1959. In Aalto Theater, take part operas and ballet performances. The construction of the building began in 1983, seven years after Aalto’s death. There were no big changes in the main plan that Aalto designed during the construction process.
Some of the main characteristics of Aalto Theater ‘s architecture is the asymmetrical layout of the auditorium and gestures in the materials that permit the best acoustics in the building. The indigo blue of the color of the seats gives a royal feeling in the room.
