Address: Zaubes Street 12 | RIGA | Latvia
Latitude/Longitude: 56.9633, 24.1215
In a relatively small plot of 470 m², a six-story building with 10 apartments, office and maintenance premises on the ground floor was built – as a final touch to a street block adorned with famous Art Nouveau and Art Deco architecture, sensitive to existing urban space and ancient oak-tree on the corner.
The central element of the planning composition is a circular stairwell; each floor houses two apartments. In the apartment planning, the same central motif is applied: rooms are arranged around a spacious living zone screened off by doors or convertible partition walls, allowing maximum intimacy for all activities. The openness and fusion of spaces provide natural light in the whole apartment all day long.
For the interior finish, the owners could choose materials of a limited colour range, with which it was possible to create a harmonious environment. The main luxury of the building’s architecture is laconism of design, functionality, precision and feasibility.
