Customs and Excise Building

Construction year: 1998
Address: Gardermoen Airport, Gardermoen | OSLO | Norway
Latitude/Longitude: 60.1992, 11.0993

The architecture is based on simple geometry, recurring spatial principles and a modest palette of colours and materials. The construction inspires abstraction towards the details which carry the specific expression of the building. The internal space focuses on a unity of individual and collective and the “house within a house” principle engenders an inner landscape with dimensions that contrast to the vast exterior space of the site. The exterior of the building is sculpted as one homogenous mass with an unequivocal place in its context.
