The capital of Minas Gerais was built between 1894 and 1897 with the aim of being the symbol of the civilization and progress that the Republic wanted to implement in the country. Between 1942 and 1944, the mayor Juscelino Kubitschek invited Oscar Niemeyer to design the Architectural Set of Pampulha. Ten years later, the architect designed the famous Niemeyer Building. Located in one of the noble areas of BH, Praça da Liberdade, the building is one of the monuments that attract the attention of those who pass by.

In order to be considered as a modern architecture, Niemeyer was inspired by the mountains of Minas Gerais to make the curves of the building. The impression that passes, for those who see the building of the Freedom Square is that the building has more than 15 floors, and in fact, has eight, thanks to baroque art and illusionism. It is worth knowing the building that is a reference in modern architecture in Brazil.
