Standing 300 meters in height and comprising 576 apartments, Eureka Tower is one of the tallest residential buildings in the world. Notable for the significant public observatory at its peak, this tower forms part of a complete city block redevelopment in Southbank by Melbourne’s Yarra River. Incorporating a hotel, boutique office space, showrooms, restaurants and carparking facilities, the complex creates vibrant connections between the lively river edge and the hitherto separated precincts of this locale. The design and urban planning excellence of Eureka Tower and its environs have been formally recognised through multiple awards, including the 2007 RAIA Victoria Best Overend Award for Residential Architecture – Multiple Housing, and the 2007 RAIA Victoria Joseph Reed Award for Urban Design.
