Natural light permeates every room through large operable windows that link the interior with the site. Large covered, civic outdoor spaces are provided at the buildings’ entrances, which blur the line between inside and out and serve as gathering spaces for the center. The main entrance features a large glass steel and wood entrance canopy which welcomes visitors to the Center. The Building is constructed of over scaled brick veneer, colored concrete block, cast in place concrete and metal siding. The large volume that is the gymnasium is partially set into grade and angled against the rest of the building to minimize the bulk and bring into the scale and proportion of the site and mass of the overall structure.
