Text description provided by the architects. Community centre design is represented through this project in an innovative and bold approach. The facility covers an area of 8,000 m² and integrates recreation, arts and social services with a full-service community health centre. A group of formerly disconnected community facilities is unified efficiently with this design strategy that also provides overall order to the Civic Centre site. Located directly adjacent to and attached to the recently expanded and refurbished West Vancouver Aquatic Centre, the Community Centre is the social and civic heart of West Vancouver. The Centre is targeting LEED®-Gold certification.
